Experience
Prior to joining Almazan Law, Annette was an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orlando, FL for two and half years. She prosecuted misdemeanor, traffic, juvenile, and felony cases. She worked with local law enforcement, witnesses, and victims to investigate cases. She was first chair in seven jury trials and three non-jury trials. She utilizes her litigation experience in defense of Employer/Carrier’s during depositions, motion hearings, pre-trial conferences, and final merit hearings.
Annette completed the Florida Bar Worker’s Compensation Trial Advocacy Program, where she collaborated with attorneys and judges to present a mock trial. She was accepted into this limited program where she had the opportunity to learn from seasoned experts in worker’s compensation. The mock trial involved issues of fraud, applicability of the Daubert Standard, major contributing cause, and the exclusion of evidence.
