Estate Planning Attorney in West Palm Beach
Florida Estate Planning Backed by Real Estate and Probate Law Experience
When your estate plan touches real property, a title question, or probate administration, having attorneys familiar with all three in one firm makes the process cleaner. Almazan Law now helps West Palm Beach clients build estate plans as an extension of our existing real estate and probate law practice. Suzette Reyes, our Director of Real Estate Practice, brings her background in both real estate and probate law directly to this work.
Based in Miami with offices in Tampa and West Palm Beach, we’ve been serving Florida clients since 2009 across a wide range of legal matters, from individual property owners to Fortune 500 companies and national insurance carriers. Our attorneys have handled thousands of cases and secured more than $2 billion in covered title insurance policy matters.

A complete estate plan typically combines several documents, each serving a distinct function. Together, they direct what happens to your assets, your finances, and your healthcare if you become incapacitated or pass away.
- Last Will & Testament: Directs how your assets are distributed after death and can name a guardian for minor children. Under Florida law, the original will must be filed with the clerk of court within 10 days of the custodian learning of the testator’s death.
- Revocable Living Trust: Holds and manages assets during your lifetime and can transfer them to beneficiaries without formal probate administration. A trust can also manage your affairs if you become incapacitated.
- Durable Power of Attorney: Authorizes a designated agent to handle financial and legal matters if you’re unable to do so yourself. Without one, family members may need to petition a court for guardianship.
- Healthcare Surrogate Designation: Names someone to make medical decisions on your behalf if you can’t communicate your own wishes.
Palm Beach County Probate: What West Palm Beach Residents Should Know
Probate matters for West Palm Beach residents are handled by the Probate Division of Florida’s Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. How your estate moves through that court depends significantly on how your assets are structured and titled before you pass.
One change worth noting: effective July 1, 2026, Florida raised the value threshold for summary administration from $75,000 to $150,000 under an amendment to Florida Statute 735.201. Summary administration is a simplified, faster probate process available for qualifying smaller estates. A Florida homestead passing to a surviving spouse or heirs is generally excluded from that value calculation, which matters for many Palm Beach County property owners when determining which process applies.
Why West Palm Beach Clients Work with Almazan Law
We prioritize direct, personal communication and build strategies around each client’s specific situation rather than applying a standard template. That approach carries through to how we schedule and conduct meetings.
- Virtual and Remote Consultations: We offer video and remote meetings alongside in-person appointments, so geography and schedule don’t get in the way.
- Flexible Scheduling: We work around your availability, including options outside standard business hours.
- Spanish-Language Service: Se habla español. Clients who prefer to discuss their legal matters in Spanish can do so with our team.
- Real Estate and Probate Continuity: If your plan later involves a title question or probate filing, you won’t need to bring a new firm up to speed.
